Alberta Moose Hunts

Our Alberta moose hunts take place throughout west-central Alberta, extending north to the Northwest Territories border. From exciting rut hunts to November post-rut hunts, we offer a variety of experiences so you can choose the adventure that best suits you.

Rut Hunts

Our rut hunts typically run 7–10 days and combine spot-and-stalk hunting with calling techniques.

Depending on the hunt you choose, accommodations range from comfortable cabins to remote spike camps equipped with outfitter tents. ATVs are used to navigate the terrain and access productive hunting areas.

Hunting the Boreal Forest

Alberta’s dense boreal forest presents a unique hunting challenge.

Success often comes down to calling, reading the sign, and working through the timber rather than glassing large expanses of open country.

Remote Fly-In Lake Hunts

For a different experience, our remote fly-in lake hunts are primarily conducted by boat, letting hunters cover water and shoreline habitat while generally requiring less walking.

Many of the lakes we hunt also provide excellent fishing opportunities, adding another dimension to your wilderness adventure.

A Typical Day in Camp

5:15–5:45 AM — Rise and Shine: Start the morning with a fresh cup of coffee and a light snack before heading into the field.

Morning Hunt (3–5 hours): Hunt prime habitat using calling, spot-and-stalk strategies, and knowledge of local moose movement.

Late Morning — Brunch and Rest: Return to camp for a hearty brunch and some downtime.

Around 3:00 PM — Evening Hunt: Head back out for another 3–5 hours as the day winds down.

Evening — Dinner and Camp: Relax over dinner and share stories from the day before another morning in the field.

Physical Requirements

Hunters can generally expect to walk approximately 1–5 miles per day, depending on the terrain, hunting conditions, and location.

A moderate level of physical fitness is recommended to help you enjoy the experience and stay comfortable throughout the hunt.
